Tough times can bring struggles which can create doubt. Henry Drummond, a tremendous Christians minister in the 1800's declared, Christ never failed to distinguish between doubt and unbelief...Doubt is looking for light; unbelief is contentment with darkness.

John Bunyan confronted doubt in The Pilgrim's Progress. As Christian and his companion Hopeful journeyed to the Celestial City, they were captured by giant Despair and placed in the dungeon in Doubting Castle. They spent three days and nights in the dungeon where they were beaten and tempted to commit suicide. Christian's release from Doubting Castle came through fellowship with Hopeful, their prayers, and their use of the Key of Promise, the promises of Scripture.

It is easy to become overwhelmed by doubt but I encourage each of us to learn how to deal with it Biblically. A writer said recently that he need only focus on two attributes of God to know that He can be trusted - He is sovereign and He is good. Take some time to consider the message under Topical Studies, Concerning Doubt. Doubts evaporate as we dig into His word.

It seems that COVID-19 can strip away almost any underpinning of life. In the past 4 months, millions of people have lost their health, thousands have lost their lives, millions have lost their jobs and billions have lost freedom to live the way they were accustomed. For some time I have been praying that people would turn to that which can’t be taken away, abundant life today and eternal life in the future through the work of Jesus Christ.

A word missing in our society for a long time is revival. It may seem like an old fashioned word but it points to our need to major on majors. Christians are called to be light in the darkness, even the darkness of COVID-19. Churches are called to be lighthouses leading people to an institution founded by Jesus Christ where He is head. I am not surprised that unbelievers live like the world. I am concerned when Christians live like the world.

Throughout the history of the church, there have been moments when the light of eternity has shone on our society. It has been more than 250 years since there has been a nationwide revival. If ever there was a time we need revival, it is now. I encourage you to visit crimsonministries.org and read of the great revivals that have turned our society right-side up, look for Revival - God Rocking Our World, under Topical Studies. God is sovereign and He is good and more than able to rock our world right-side up.

Note: Romans 7:1-6, Christians’ Relationship to the Law is now available in the Romans Bible Study under Books of the Bible.

Several days ago, I spoke with a friend who is the international director of a missions agency. He asked me if I knew a certain Christian leader and I said I knew him well. He was one of my professors at Dallas Seminary. He told my friend that 95% of all pastors in third world countries have less than a high school education. That reinforced my desire to develop Crimson Ministries as noted in the Crimson Ministries website.

Also, I am pleased to announce the addition of The Epistle to the Romans under the Books of the Bible tab on the crimsonministries.org website. Chapters 1 - 6 are available. Chapter 7 will be coming soon, Lord willing. This study of the Book of Romans is being prepared for a weekly Bible Study at a Retirement Center.

Blessings as you dig into God’s Word.
